Chiltern Relocation

A Day in the Life at Chiltern Relocation

Sealed bid contests and multimillion pound homes

No two days are the same at Chiltern Relocation. From viewing multimillion pound homes to the nerve wracking process of sealed bids we know that relocating clients is not just about finding the right house….it is the whole package: the area, schools, commute and social amenities as our clients embrace a new area. Today has been a particularly exciting and varied day.

9am – Following successful viewings at a property in Beaconsfield we put together a sealed bid proposal for our clients. The home the executor was selling was priced around £1million and offered great living accommodation, good sized bedrooms, a garden with a swimming pool and all within walking distance of Beaconsfield station. Some work is required but our clients are keen to undertake a project. Interestingly, the original brief was for a character home in a rural location with land and we arranged a number of viewing days looking at properties in various Buckinghamshire villages to match our client’s requirements. This process was old envelopeinvaluable as the couple came to the realisation that they would prefer to have less land and greater proximity to shops, schools and commuting options. The house in Beaconsfield ticked all the boxes in this regard, in addition to being a few moments walk from local woods and having a wonderful community. Once they had seen the town and the house there was no going back.

10.30am – Meeting with Sarah Green who is setting up her own relocation business in Cambridge. We often get asked for advice from individuals who are keen to know how a relocation business works. We are always happy to help and to take the opportunity to establish links to other relocation agents in the country. Sarah had plenty of questions and we wish ‘Move to Cambridge’ every success.

12.30pm – Networking lunch in Chesham with a firm of solicitors. Events such as these are a brilliant way of getting the Chiltern Relocation message across and hearing what other firms are up to. This networking lunch was hosted by IBB Solicitors and typically there will be discussion about probate sales and local property information which is highly valuable when it comes to finding out about homes before they come onto the open market.

2.30pm – Back to the office to research properties in Virginia Water as we have a client coming over from Atlanta next week looking for a two year rental near to the famous Wentworth Golf Club.Atlanta Highway Sign

4pm – Receive a call from the estate agent regarding our sealed bid offer. Chiltern Relocation has a 100% success rate when it comes to sealed bids and we have our fingers crossed for this one. We are delighted to hear that our clients has been successful! The best bit of our job has to be calling the clients to tell them the great news. We get straight onto arranging all the paperwork and solicitor’s details and we will follow the purchase every step of the way to ensure the smooth and swift path to exchange and completion.

5.30pm – This evening Chiltern Relocation is invited to a VIP event showcasing a brand new £7million home in Beaconsfield. The property boasts over 12,000sq ft. of accommodation over four floors including a fabulous cinema room, gym and wine room and the attention to detail – as you would imagine – is stunning. Despite its size, the property felt homely and there were many touches of warmth throughout and great views over the one acre mature gardens. The event attracted a lot of interest given its location in Beaconsfield’s Golden Triangle. Beaconsfield is regularly voted in the ‘Top Ten Places to Live in the UK’ in various national surveys including The Sunday Times and the town continues to create a buzz of interest from families wishing to move here from London, overseas executives as well as those wanting to upscale. Prices commanded in Beaconsfield are typically above the national average but with so many potential purchasers keen to be part of this vibrant community demand is never an issue.

6.30pm – After enjoying a glass of champagne and canapes at the launch event and catching up with local estate agents it is time to head home delighted with the successful sealed bid outcome for our clients today.
