As Cheese lovers day is January 20th we thought we would tell you about a local successful cheesemaker
The Marlow Cheese Company, run by artisan cheesemaker Lynda Hill, produces a range of cheeses which are featured in local award winning local restaurants including Tom Kerridge’s The Hand and Flowers and The Butchers Tap in Marlow and Artichoke in Amersham.
However, you can also find her cheeses at local Farmers Markets. She is passionate about keeping things local and the provenance of the produce. The milk she sources is from a very local diary where the milk contains three times as much omega 3 as other milks and contains beta-carotene which is a source of vitamin A and is thought to give protection against certain cancers.
The Marlow Cheese Company’s two best-sellers are: ‘Cygnet’, a soft lactic style cheese, fresh and young with a natural white rind called (perfect on crackers or French bread, ideal for a cheeseboard or adding to your cooking).
And her other popular favourite is ‘Bucks Blue’ – a blue version of the above with a natural grey rind for all those who like a bit of ‘uumph’ with their cheese.
You can find Lynda’s produce at the following Local Farmers’ Markets:
Marlow Farmers’ Market, 10am to 3pm (1st Saturday of the month)
The Causeway (bottom of the high street) Marlow, Bucks SL7 2AA.
