Moving families and corporate staff into the local area is the day-to-day business at Chiltern Relocation but this week we had a relocation of a different kind. Assistance with a wide range of additional services are on offer at Chiltern Relocation including schooling advice, area orientation cross culture training and pet relocation.
However this relocation didn’t fit the bill for any for any of these services. We were confronted with a rather challenging and prickly customer – a hedgehog.
Didn’t know where he should be
Discovered in the bright sunshine one morning this client was unsure as to where he wanted to relocate to or how to get there. Unable to move and protesting at being interviewed as to his preferences with a multiple squeaks (who knew that hedgehogs made such a noise?), the decision for Chiltern Relocation to relocate the hedgehog was taken.
The first step of the relocation involved rolling the hedgehog into a flat cap and securing it in a safe plasitc bin ready to be transported. With a seatbelt on of course. A 60 mile round trip to the Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital at Haddenham ensued. The prickly customer was seen in the casualty department where he was declared to be of healthy weight and having come out of hibernation a bit too early.
Instead of signing lease documents and organising utility handover, Sharon was required to sign documents to declare that the hedgehog was now in the safe care of Tiggywinkles and no longer her client.
Chiltern Relocation enjoyed finding a new home and garden for our prickly friend and would like to thank the sanctuary for all their amazing work.
