Cycling in the Chilterns – for fitness and for business
Cycling is the new golf,
business is now being conducted round the bends, up steep hills and whilst sat at the all-important café stop. Cycling has taken off across the country to such an extent that Chiltern Relocation is often contacted by keen cyclists wanting to move to the area. Fed up of having to load up their bike every weekend and travel miles out of the city to cycle, enthusiasts are now changing their address to match their desired lifestyle. The Chilterns is one of the best places for cycling in the south east due to the varying terrain, steep inclines, quiet roads and the huge network of cycle routes on the doorstep.
Chiltern Relocation has thoroughly enjoyed the recent challenge of relocating a cycling enthusiast and we set about researching a number of excellent cycling websites to find the greatest concentration of routes within Bucks.
The national cycling website ran by Sustrans, provides excellent route planning and advice for cyclists of all abilities.
For a wide range of cycle options from expert to family cycling the Cycle Chilterns website has everything you need for your day out.
Next up was researching Cycle Clubs in the area.
National cycling website British Cycling has a club finder where you can find out more about clubs local to you whether you are after something serious or a more leisurely paced club.
Once we had located the best cycling hot spots we were able to research property options in the surrounding towns and villages. The villages of Weston Turville, Ivinghoe and Halton were all popular choices due to the rural feel yet benefitting from their proximity to Tring and the much larger town of Aylesbury. Chiltern Relocation were delighted to find a character home in Weston Turville with access to miles of off road cycling routes from the doorstep and we now have one very happy cyclist who invites colleagues to join him for corporate days in the saddle.
