Dogs, Cycling and Pubs – why people really move out of London
10th September 2019
What do dogs, cycling and pubs all have in common? You may be surprised to learn that they often feature on the list of requirements from clients when making the move out of London.
Obviously, housing, schooling, commuting are top of practicality list but just under the surface the desire and dream of bringing children up in a fresh air with green fields, walks leading to pub lunches with friends and a wide range of cycling routes is also firmly on the list.
We have recently relocated a number of clients who were all keen to make the move to meet their needs for a better outdoor lifestyle. One client who works in the City is a keen cyclist and for him door-to-door cycling routeswas as important as door-to-door commute times. We learnt that cyclists like hills and varied terrain and of course multiple network of routes and Weston Turville answered all of these demands including a short commute to work.
Client’s feedback on successful search“If you’re trying to find the perfect property in the Chilterns, you can spend hundreds of hours learning the turf, or simply get Chiltern Relocation on board. I could not have found somewhere quicker or better, or had a better understanding of the local market to guide me through the purchase. Fabulous result, thank you.”
Country pubs on doorstep
Another client was desperate for a rural house with land but after a number of Viewing Days soon came to the conclusion that proximity to a train station, High Street shops and excellent local schools was of a greater priority. We steered them towards homes closer to a good commute, with a good sized garden rather than ‘land’ and crucially within a short distance of an outstanding school. The location and house ticked the boxes for schools and commute and, to their delight, also ticked the boxes for walks (from their front door) across fields to country pubs (with a future dog!), and access to wide range of cycle routes through the woods (again from their front door). The feedback from the clients summed it up perfectly.
Chiltern Relocation did not push us in any particular direction and they let us make up our own minds. They facilitated the process by listening to our feedback and adjusting the approach as we went along. Pretty soon we had further narrowed our search. We thought we would take some time to find a home but within six weeks we had already found a suitable property and by the beginning of November we put in an offer.
