Half Term Fun in Bucks

Half term is fast approaching and with Halloween also around the corner there is plenty to keep your children, witches and wizards of all ages entertained this half term.

The award winning Chiltern Open Air Museum is hosting an Awesome Autumn activity day on Tuesday 29th October. Adventurers are invited to come and take part in the scavenger hunt and make autumn inspired crafts.

The museum is also excited to invite you on a Ghost Hunt using Victorian methods on 26th October and their Halloween Spectacular on 1st November from 5-9pm. The Spectacular promises to be an exhilarating evening with amazing fire performances and a spooky horse display. Guests can take a take a trip around the spooky walk… if they dare….and enjoy lots of themed crafts, activities and games whilst enjoying food and drink on the traditional village green. A Happy Halloween awaits at Odds Farm Park daily from 26th October until 3rd November. Interactive and ‘spellbinding’ shows promise to entertain all and younger adventurers can explore the Pumpkin Patch Garden to choose their pumpkin and then start carving.

Much spooky half term fun awaits at our local National Trust properties Waddesdon Manor, Hughenden Manor and Cliveden. Over at Waddesdon Manor there will be the ever-popular Halloween trail, spooky treats to tickle the taste buds, pumpkin  carving and crafty activities for everyone.

Visitors to Hugenden Manor are invited to see the spooky side of Hughenden this half term with their haunted trail, craft a creepy creature, scavenger trail or twilight trek. And over at Cliveden they will be inviting younger guests to explore the world of Cliveden’s not-so-creepy crawlies and create a craft to take home.

Deep underground in High Wycombe there is a whole host of Halloween fun lined up at Hell Fire Caves. The Hellfire School of Witchcraft and Wizardry sessions are not to be missed and include potion making, werewolf banishing, broomstick races and a tour of the Hell-Fire Caves by their friendly wizard. Booking is required. During the half term week, the courtyard will also be host to lots of free Halloween fun such as spooky games, colouring and fancy-dress competitions.

Half term can get expensive so if you are on the look-out for some fab free activities then head to Burnham Beeches for their Woodland Wonders half term trail. Explorers are invited to join a wonderful woodland adventure on their popular self-guided half term trail.
