High profile executive relocation to Oxford needed at short notice.
The Initial Enquiry
We were recently contacted by the HR Department of a large European aeronautical company who needed our help to move their MD out of his current rental in Oxford as the landlord had served him notice. Having moved a number of their staff to the UK on corporate relocations we were pleased to now be of assistance to their MD. Our client had a very full schedule and was concerned about the time pressure to find a new home when he was unable to dedicate any time to the search himself.
How we helped
Chiltern Relocation quickly arranged to meet our client after work at his current rental property. By meeting here we could better understand his needs and it gave us the opportunity to discuss what he was looking for in his next move. We went armed with maps and potential rental options, which we had researched prior to the meeting, so we could narrow down his preferred location and style of accommodation. The next day we started to put together a viewing schedule now that we had a firm picture of his needs. Given our client was unable to set aside time to view the properties during the week we drew up a shortlist of options for him to view on a Saturday morning.
The problems we faced
We were delighted that from our shortlist of properties one fitted the bill in terms of size and location. However the chosen property was new to the rental market and it was also a first time landlord who did not fully appreciate the standard required for a corporate rental. In order for the house to be ready some modifications were needed such as a new garage door, new white goods, and a major garden clean-up in addition to some redecoration. We negotiated for this list of requirements to be swiftly actioned in order that the property was ready for him to move in. With time still an issue Chiltern Relocation organised the professional clean and check out of the current rental in addition to the check in for the new house. We further assisted by organising the removals thereby saving our client a lot of time on all the additional – but essential – details involved with such a move.
When we were contacted by the HR Department we understood that our client would be unable to dedicate time to the home search and that he needed our help to coordinate his whole move. Finding and moving house is a time consuming task and it was time he did not have. We are delighted that only one morning was set aside by our client for the search and that we were able to handle the whole process on his behalf. The move went smoothly and our client is very happy in his newly updated rental property.
