Case Study | Moving to Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross

From first contact to negotiations on a house in 3 days

Chiltern Relocation received a phone call on Tuesday 3rd October from the company secretary of City based Accountancy Company. The brief was to find a 4/5-bedroomed house in Beaconsfield or Gerrards Cross for the company CEO.

A suitable home was needed for a short-term rental

The remit was to find a suitable home for the CEO and his family whilst they waited for the purchase of another house to complete.

Over 100 phone calls to estate agents

Chiltern Relocation received confirmation to proceed with the search on their behalf on Wednesday 4th October. The same morning, Chiltern Relocation made 109 telephone calls to Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross Estate Agents, Letting Agents and contacts that we have in the area.

Suitable properties discussed with the client in Australia

One of the main criteria was that the house needed to be within walking distance of the Chiltern Line train station. Chiltern Relocation was given information by one of our contacts about one property that fitted the description in Gerrards Cross but which was not yet on the market. We viewed the property that Wednesday afternoon and found it filled all the requirements Chiltern Relocation was given. The client was in Australia and could not view the property so after many late night calls the client agreed to go ahead.

Despite this, Chiltern Relocation felt a little uncomfortable with the busy road the property was on which wasn't ideal for a family with a four-year-old child. With this in mind, we put a reserve on the house and decided to keep on searching.

Discovery of a second property in Gerrards Cross

Chiltern Relocation then found a second property with the same accommodation in the Gerrards Cross area but located in a quiet cul de sac. When we put the second option to the client they were delighted and very pleased with our diligence.

Reserve placed on property within 48 hours

By the Thursday, we had put a reserve on this home and they moved in at the end of October.

In choosing Gerrards Cross, our client is able to take advantages of this sought-after commuting town including the excellent Chiltern Line train link between London Marylebone and Aylesbury.

Should it have been necessary, properties could have been located in other local commuting towns including Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Amersham, Windsor and Maidenhead.
