My husband had accepted a position as CEO of an organization based in London, and we needed to find a comfortable home to rent in the UK. Although his main office would be in London, much of the time he would be traveling, so we wanted a place that was convenient to Heathrow, as well as central London, but not in a big city.
We have a large home in the US, and were hoping to find something similar in the UK, and in addition to these requirements, I also wanted the home to be within walking distance of shopping. We planned a trip to the UK in early January (2009) to look for a place, and three days before our departure we were notified by the relocation company that Sharon Hewitt had been selected to assist us with locating a home. Sharon contacted us immediately to determine the type of property we were looking for, and arranged to pick us up at our hotel shortly after our arrival to start our three day property search.
Each morning Sharon arrived prior to the scheduled time and handed us a detailed printout of the homes we would be looking at. As we drove she took care to describe the different areas, and took us through each village to point out shopping, eating and transportation options. She was extremely knowledgeable about each location and was able to answer all my questions about relocating to the UK - and there were many! Sharon was very kind to us throughout the process, and one day even took us to her home to search for additional properties. She did find the ideal property for us - a four bedroom, four bathroom home with a lovely garden and only a 10 minute walk to the train and shopping, and a 20 minute drive to LHR. It met all our requirements, which I know now was quite challenging.
Just prior to our moving in she did an extremely thorough and detailed inventory of the property, making note of every small blemish in each room. I know this will be invaluable when we eventually move out! And the day we took possession of the home, she made time in her busy schedule to take me shopping for essentials. Her kindness and thoughtfulness are greatly appreciated by both of us.
Sharon was everything that anyone would look for in a relocation specialist. She worked hard to help us find the perfect place, stayed in touch through the entire process and was a complete joy to work with.
