Sharon has worked in the property industry all her life. Sharon was the youngest female Office Manager in the 1980’s and progressed through the company to Area Director. Following a move to Beaconsfield, Sharon worked at a local estate agent for the next 10 years covering their premium property portfolio.
In 2005, Sharon felt that she wanted to do more for buyers. Typically, estate agents work for the vendors to get the best deal for their clients. However, Sharon felt that there was no one looking out for the buyers and the best possible purchase for them. She was frustrated that she was often aware of an ideal property coming on to another agent’s books but she was unable to share this due to conflict of interest.
Sharon understood the importance of making informed choices regarding location, commuting, schooling and social amenities for a successful move and she did not feel that estate agents necessarily addressed all these areas when making a sale.
After her ‘lightbulb moment’ to represent buyers, Sharon set up Chiltern Relocation from her kitchen table. She soon had clients who were keen to capitalise on her in depth local knowledge, her fantastic links with local agents and professionals in addition to her insightful negotiation skills.
The office in Beaconsfield opened in 2007 and Sharon has not looked back since. By having worked in sales and lettings Sharon understands both sides of the market and is able to take the stress out of the process. The team work for both private clients and corporate international clients offering a wide range of relocation services. Chiltern Relocation offers both a sales and rental search service.
Estate agents actively want to work with Sharon as they know her clients are as committed as she is. This connection and respect from agents, means that Sharon is often first to know about ‘off market’ properties and is kept up to date with all the local housing market news. Sharon also likes to add a ‘wild card’ property to a Viewing Day. This is a property that she believes to be suitable but that clients had not previously considered. Sharon’s attention to detail and thinking ‘outside the box’ is what makes Chiltern Relocation’s offering so unique.
Kerrin has worked alongside Sharon since 2011. Kerrin was initially a client and was so impressed with the service that Sharon offered that she wanted to join Sharon in helping others to experience the same level of commitment. Sharon secured a fabulous property in Beaconsfield for Kerrin and her young family in 2008. Kerrin had bid on a particularly sought-after house – before enlisting Sharon’s help – and had lost out to a property developer. Sharon’s links meant that she was aware that the deal on this property was not going to proceed and that it was to be re-offered to a select handful of interested buyers (from more than 40+ who viewed it on the open weekend). With Sharon’s incisive knowledge and negotiation skills, Kerrin and family won the sealed bids process and secured their forever home. The house was a ‘project’ and Sharon’s excellent professional links meant that Sharon was able to introduce a fantastic architect, builder and landscaper for their major extension.
Kerrin’s background is in the City – sales trading for US and European banks in addition to journalism. This diverse skillset enables Kerrin to support Sharon with research, negotiation and website content.
Milo, Sharon’s fluffy cocker spaniel, is a committed member of the Chiltern Relocation team. Early morning walks across the beautiful Chiltern fields helps to get both Sharon and Milo in the right mindset for the day. Milo has his own spot in the office where he keeps a close eye on the team and the biscuit tin.
