Now that we can eat inside, go to a hotel, take a gym class, and cinemas and museums are reopening here is our pick of the activities we can now enjoy in the Chilterns!
Take to the River
Take a cruise along the river and enjoy the slower pace of life. Tours depart from Windsor, Henley and Reading with many now able to offer a cream tea whilst you glide along. National Trust property Cliveden also has boat trips available (with entrance to the property) with skippered vessels and self-hire vessels. Or go punting in Oxford safe in the knowledge that if the weather is being particularly British that you can seek refuge in a restaurant after the fun!

Duck Tour
If you fancy something river based but quite different then a Duck Tour could be for you. Starting off as a tour round historic Windsor the amphibious vehicle then takes to the water splashing into the river.

Support local animal centres
Whipsnade Zoo and Woburn Safari Park are looking forward to seeing many more visitors to help support their animals. Now that indoor enclosures can reopen and cafes and restaurants are open it mean that the weather is no longer a deciding factor when visiting.
Odds Farm will be reopening their indoor areas including their café and their famous soft play (45-minute sessions throughout the day). On a smaller scale other local animal centres and charities who would be grateful to see visitors are The Horse Trust in Speen and Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Haddenham.

Museums
The National History Museum in Tring is a world of discovery. One of their current exhibitions explores animal mummies given as gifts to the ancient Egyptian gods.

Chiltern Open Air Museum will now be able to allow visitors to step inside the many historic houses preserved on site and get a real taste of life in different eras. The School House being a particularly fascinating visit. Candle making is also popular with all ages.

The River and Rowing Museum in Henley on Thames is packed with historic boats, Olympic medals, an iron age haul of gold coins and a Wind in the Willows experience!
