Here at Chiltern Relocation, we admit to getting a little bit excited about Easter every year and what’s not to love…bluebells, spring weather and stacks to do. We love to showcase great activities for the family over this period but this year we wanted to highlight events for adults.

With commuting times of just 19 minutes from Gerrards Cross it is no wonder that this area draws an increasing number of professionals looking for a better work life balance.
Bluebell Beauty
Easter is the ideal time to enjoy the carpets of bluebells that change the local landscape. Some of the best locations include the National Trust properties Cliveden, Ashridge Estate, Bradenham Beeches and Hughenden Manor. Penn Bottom near Beaconsfield also boasts fabulous displays in Witheridge and Penn Woods. And not forgetting Wendover Woods which is a truly hidden gem.
Country walk and a Pub Lunch
If you fancy combining a fabulous country walk with a pub stop then we would highly recommend a hike through the historic Hambleden valley stopping off at one – or all – of these pubs. The villages are incredibly picturesque with timber framed housing and narrow lanes.
Hambleden is full of historic charm and has been used as a location for many films including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, 101 Dalmatians and Band of Brothers amongst many others. Visitors can park in the village and stroll past the 12th century church to start a walk along the Thames or up into the Chiltern Hills.
Visitors to Turville come to admire the windmill which is has been used in many film productions including: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Goodnight Mister Tom and Midsomer Murders.
Fingest is often described as the perfect example of an unspoilt village, with medieval and Georgian cottages clustered around the churchyard, nestling in the Chiltern Hills. There is excellent walking from here with quiet pastures sloping up to beech woods where you can make your way to other equally characterful Chiltern villages.

Visiting and Sampling local wine at a Chilterns Vineyard
We are fortunate to boast three fabulous vineyards in the Chilterns – the mild climate and chalky soils make it ideal for grape growing.
The Chiltern Valley Vineyard offer a 2 hour ‘behind the scenes’ Tour & Tasting experience around their winery, brewery and liqueur production facilities. With a few spaces still remaining over Easter, the tour demonstrates a fun and extensive learning experience followed by a tutored tasting of a wide selection of their wines, ales and liqueurs.
Daws Hill Vineyard
Nestled in the heart of the stunning Chiltern Hills, Daws Hill Vineyard spans three picturesque acres and is home to around 5,000 carefully nurtured vines. This boutique vineyard is dedicated to producing high-quality English sparkling wine using traditional methods and classic Champagne grape varieties—Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. The team offer a vineyard tour and tasting experience, embarking on a journey from vine to bottle.
Oaken Grove Vineyard
Oaken Grove Vineyard is a family-run, boutique vineyard surrounded by ancient woodlands which offers a range of award-winning English still and sparkling wines. Established in 1986 it has seven acres of Pinot Noir, Bacchus and Madeleine Angevine vines which produce exceptional quality wines that are fresh, modern and packed with flavour. Tours are available in the afternoon (a few Easter spots left) to learn about our grape growing and taste their award-winning still and sparkling wines.
Food and Drink Safari
The best of both worlds. Chiltern Safaris are on a mission to combine the best food and drink in the area. Historically, The Chilterns were nicknamed the ‘Larder of London’, supplying local and neighbouring areas with produce cultivated from its fertile land. The local food and drink scene is thriving in and amongst this beautiful countryside.
Chiltern Safaris believe that there’s no better way to experience the heart and soul of the land than by journeying through its ancient corridors to visit the local artisans working the earth, and to taste the delicious food and drink produced. The team run a variety of tours making the most of the area.
