Chiltern Relocation were invited, alongside many other local businesses, to attend a Networking event in Beaconsfield Old Town last week. The location was the sophisticated Riwaz restaurant founded by the award-winning chef, Atul Kocchar.
Networking with fabulous food on offer was a particular treat and Chiltern Relocation were delighted to meet with business owners, entrepreneurs and also Beaconsfield’s mayor. Supporting such events is a really valuable way for us to meet like-minded business people and learn about their industries. Of course, it is even more satisfying when a potential link between businesses is discovered and connections are forged.
At the event, we met with fellow professionals in the property world. This included the team from Hamptons estate agent. John echoed our views on the property market and where they were seeing particular interest and what they had in the pipeline. We met with Tripps removals who also confirmed our thoughts on where people are currently moving from when relocating into the area. We also learnt that those choosing to retire or downsize are moving in two very different directions – either just a few roads away or to the west country. Many other local businesses braved the rain and enjoyed networking in the beautiful surroundings.
Other attendees that we met included representatives from local schools so again we were able to have an idea about what improvements they have in the pipeline. Helping to find school places for clients moving to the area is very much part of our day-to-day work and we always take time out to visit local schools so we are able to provide feedback for our clients.
The mayor and members of the town council also attended and it was enlightening to hear about plans for the town and what they are hoping to achieve in the next few years. When moving clients to the area there are always question marks over planning, green belt areas, catchment areas etc so having the opportunity to chat with councillors directly was extremely helpful. We also had the pleasure of meeting local business owners like Alex Dunlop who runs the impressive car maintenance and servicing garage in the Old Town.
And of course, a huge thank you to the team at Riwaz. We were delighted to meet Atul who earnt his first Michelin star in 2001. Atul then opened his own restaurant in London’s Mayfair, in 2002, which earned him a second Michelin star in 2007. Since then, Atul has grown his restaurant portfolio, opening several award-winning venues including: Sindhu in Marlow and Hawkyns in Amersham in Buckinghamshire and Indian Essence in Petts Wood, Kent. Attendees sampled a wide range of canapes and refreshing cocktails from the new autumn and festive menus which were all delicious. The service was exceptional and we look forward to returning.
