Chiltern Relocation had a great year in 2024 and we always like to take a moment to reflect on the past year when making plans for the upcoming year. Here is a little recap of some of our favourite features from the year.
First Quarter:
We love the Chilterns (if you hadn’t guessed) and nothing makes us happier than to hear of fellow converts to this fabulous part of the country. Earlier in the year, we enjoyed helping a couple from Ealing who were keen to move to Penn but we wanted to show them our ‘wild card’ property in the picturesque village of Chalfont St Giles. The couple loved the busy High Street with independent shops and the house fitted the bill with its proximity to both the village and countryside walks.
Talking of our love for the area, this was reflected in The Sunday Times Best Places to Live in 2024 with our local areas of St Albans, Chorleywood and Milton Keynes being featured.
As a previous winner of Theo Paphitis’ #SBS small business initiative, Chiltern Relocation was invited to join thousands of fellow winners at the annual conference in Birmingham. Theo Paphitis’ endorsement of our success has been a fantastic boost and Chiltern Relocation appreciates all the business advice in addition to the retweets from #SBS community.
Second Quarter:
One of our corporate clients had a large consignment of employee rental relocations across the UK and Scotland which kept us busy this quarter. Chiltern Relocation specialises in home finding in Bucks, Berks, Herts and Oxfordshire but also provides a comprehensive relocation service across the UK. In this quarter we enjoyed relocating many Canadian families to locations including: London, Southampton, Cheltenham, Glasgow, Winchester and Pinner.
Buckinghamshire was chosen as the location to host the Elite Show featuring luxury brands, supercars and helicopters. Chiltern Relocation helps to secure properties for a wide range of clients including high net worth individuals and attending such events (on our doorstep) is important for networking (and checking out the latest ‘high flying’ brands!).
Third Quarter:
We introduced an American family to a leafy road in Beaconsfield. The family were looking to rent a sizeable property in Henley-on-Thames as they were very taken by the quaint riverside location. However, our local knowledge steered them towards a potential option in Beaconsfield. Larger properties in Henley are found further out of the town and with two young children, we felt that the family would be better suited to a location where they would not reliant on the car for everything. The family loved our off market find and the fact that the cul-de-sac boasted a vibrant neighbourhood community (with a few fellow Americans).
Our corporate relocations continued to be strong with the signing of two new corporate clients in the motoring and biomedical industries. Corporate relocations are always an interesting part of the job as we enjoy meeting clients from overseas and in some cases providing cross cultural training to help with the move.
Fourth Quarter:
Chiltern Relocation were thrilled to see our clients move into their dream home after a lengthy process involving covenants, deed variants, bats and ecological surveys. Their story started in March 2020 when the pandemic was escalating and following a Viewing Day they decided to move out of London and look for a house whilst in rented accommodation in Bucks. The couple demonstrated incredible patience throughout the unforeseen legal and wildlife hurdles and it has resulted in them securing a bespoke house in an enviable location in Beaconsfield.
Buckinghamshire Grammar Schools were ranked highly in Sunday Times Parent Power Guide. The latest guide for top secondary schools was published on 9th December 2024 and revealed that ten grammar schools in Buckinghamshire have been ranked among the top in the region for their ‘academic excellence’ and ‘exceptional’ range of extracurriculars.
