No two weeks are the same at Chiltern Relocation – and that’s the way we love it! Here is a snapshot of some of the things Chiltern Relocation got up to this week.
Monday:
My working day always starts with my dog Milo as we head out across the fields. We have incredible walks just on the doorstep and it’s a fantastic way to take some time out and plan for the day and week ahead.
Today is all about research ahead of a Viewing Day tomorrow with a London couple. Before heading out on a Viewing Day there is a lot of background work and research to carry out in order to make the trip successful. Chiltern Relocation sends a detailed questionnaire to new clients to fully understand their likes and dislikes which is followed up with a videocall or meeting in person to discuss the questionnaire and understand the drivers for the move.
At Chiltern Relocation we pre-view the properties before showing them to clients to ensure that they fit the brief and there are no unfortunate surprises. This couple are keen to enjoy the feeling of green space, access to fabulous dog walks and being part of a friendly community. They still need to be within easy reach of London so we are focusing on towns and villages that provide a ‘countryside’ feeling whilst being in striking distance of the station and a range of local amenities.
Tuesday:
Today is our first Viewing Day with the London couple. We start in Beaconsfield to get a feel for the town and view a property option overlooking fields before heading to Penn. The couple love this village. With great pubs, a village green and duck pond, a handful of shops and great housing options it ticks a lot of boxes. Next up are the villages of Coleshill and Winchmore Hill. Both are sought-after villages with traditional pubs and nestled in fabulous countryside.
We enjoy a quick lunch in Old Amersham to assess thoughts of the areas viewed so far. Old Amersham has a range of fabulous eateries along the historic High Street in including The Kings Arms – home to the famous bar scene in Four Weddings and a Funeral.
In the afternoon we view a stunning cottage in Great Missenden with stacks of character. Home to the Roald Dahl Museum, the High Street it is a popular location with plenty of local independent shops. Jordans is our next stop. This village is just within a few miles of Beaconsfield but feels a world away. The village green takes centre stage in the historic village and here we view a more modern property.
Our last village to visit is Chalfont St Giles – also famous for its village duck pond and its links to the poet Milton. Here we view a house that could benefit from some improvement. The couple are delighted with the knowledge they gained and are already narrowing down their preferred locations and housing styles.
Wednesday:
When we relocate clients, we are not only finding their perfect house but we are often helping to find the right schooling options. Chiltern Relocation attends many school open days in order to get a feel for each school and what it can offer. Today we have been invited to visit ACS Hillingdon an international school with a wide catchment area. The school has 600 students and there are 64 different nationalities attending ACS. 90% of the students get a bus with 44 buses operating from Westminster to High Wycombe. The school is particularly strong in the sciences and digital arts.
Thursday:
Today Chiltern Relocation is meeting with a corporate client to run through their relocation requirements. They have a big relocation contingent from North America to various parts of the UK. Chiltern Relocation has undertaken many relocations for this corporate client and we are ready to help with the next wave of relocations so today was a planning meeting.
Friday:
Many of the properties that we find for clients are now off-market. This is a booming part of the residential sales with increasing numbers of transactions taking place off-market. Today Chiltern Relocation is viewing a couple of options that might be suitable for our London clients.
The week is rounded off with a drink in our favourite local pub the Royal Standard of England. Steeped in history, England’s oldest pub is dog friendly and has a welcoming fire and fabulous food to round off the week.
