Gourmet Dining in Bucks and Berks and Oxfordshire – Spoilt for choice

The Greyhound – Husband and wife team Daniel and Margriet honed their skills at Petrus and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, so it’s no surprise this gastropub nails all the small details, from pitch-perfect service to delicious food. Coming in at 21 out of the top 100.

The Oarsman – Behind the British boozer charm lies a brilliant gastropub restaurant at The Oarsman. Sink into a studded leather booth by the fire and tuck into some proper British cooking. Coming in at 63 out of the top 100.

 In Berks, we have:

The Fat Duck in Bray. Heston Blumenthal’s iconic flavours, such as snail porridge and crab ice cream, are still wowing diners. Coming in at 49 out of 100.

 The Woodspeen –   Championing unfussy food, The Woodspeen’s excellent handling of homegrown ingredients has earned it a Michelin star. When enjoyed with a glass of something from the swish wine list in the design-led dining room, the whole experience feels pretty special. Coming in at 74 out of the top 100.

The Loch and the Tyne – A joint project between Chef Adam Handling and co-chef proprietors Steven Kerr and Johnny McNeil, this classic British pub serves a seasonal hybrid of Newcastle and Scotland’s finest dishes, a nod to the owners’ childhood homes. Coming in at 89 out of the top 100.

The Vineyard at Stockcross – This luxury five-star hotel is also home to an elegant restaurant that boasts one of the most extensive wine lists in the country. Executive Chef Tom Scade beautifully executes seasonal dishes. Coming in at 100 out of the top 100.

In Oxfordshire, we have:

Orwells – Named after legendary author (and Henley-on-Thames native) George Orwell, this beloved local restaurant mixes gastropub charms with some creative, seasonal British cooking. Coming in at 50 out of the top 100.
