Sharon Meets Business Guru Theo Paphitis

As a previous winner of Theo Paphitis’ #SBS small business initiative, Chiltern Relocation was invited to join their London Business Boot Camp this week. #SBS is one of the leading business networks in the UK with over 4,000 active members. Household name Theo Paphitis is best known for appearing on the BBC’s Dragons’ Den and is Chairman of Ryman, Boux Avenue and Robert Dyas.

These sessions are always very rewarding and informative and a fantastic opportunity to network with other business leaders. Chiltern Relocation enjoyed sessions from James Holian NatWest Managing Director on understanding your customer audience, Google on understanding and using Google Analytics and a surprise appearance from the #SBS founder Theo.

Advice from Theo

During the interview session with Theo he talked about ways to help grow your business and provided some fantastic insights. One of these was: ‘Don’t be afraid to use AI.’ Theo went on to say that he believed that AI is going to be the biggest technological change since the internet so at the very least, business owners need to try and understand it.

Understanding your customer

The audience were also invited to other advice-led sessions including one from Natwest Business’ Stewart Smith who delivered an informative session on understanding your customer. Top advice included:

1. Customer testing and validation are essential to moving your business forward
2. Fall in love with the problem and this will help you create the solutions
3. Don’t be afraid to pivot, as scary as that can be sometimes

The impact of digital fluency on your business growth

Google expert Darryl Partridge, also delivered a really interesting session on how you can harness the power of digital tools like Google’s Digital Garage and insights from platforms like Instagram to amplify your online presence and marketing strategies.
