Christmas in the Chilterns is something special
There’s something rather special about Christmas in the Chilterns. From charming market towns and historic villages to beautiful countryside settings, the festive season brings a wonderful sense of community to the area.
Whether you’re already lucky enough to call the Chilterns home or are considering making the move, November and December offer plenty of opportunities to soak up the Christmas atmosphere, discover independent local businesses and enjoy some festive shopping.
With neighbourhoods buzzing with Christmas spirit and locals volunteering at various events it is a great opportunity to see towns at their finest and get out and meet people over a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. With only 7 weeks until Christmas, towns and villages are starting to sparkle and shine and for those who enjoy a different experience to the usual High Street stores then look no further than one of our many local Christmas events in Bucks and Berks.
We’ve rounded up some of the lovely Christmas markets and festive events taking place across the Chilterns in 2026.
12th-15th November: Peterley Manor Farm Christmas Fair
Peterley Manor Farm’s Christmas Fair in Great Missenden is one of the highlights of the local festive calendar and is a must-visit for anyone who loves independent shopping and a little Christmas magic. The farm hosts a fabulous Christmas Market with over 90 boutique shopping stalls, a music tent dedicated to local talent, street food and cosy fire pits. The award-winning farm is filling their atmospheric greenhouses with carefully selected artisan stalls including interiors, jewellery, candles, clothes, crafts and more.
Whilst you are there you can visit the multi-award-winning farm shop which stocks homegrown, British and seasonal produce. And if you need a bite to eat then why not visit their brilliant café The Barn Kitchen in a converted tractor shed which offers a wide range of healthy options.
