I am a fan of Savills research they have a great team Lucian Cook, Head of Residential Research, Frances Clacy, Associate Director of Residential Research and Nicolas Gibson, Research Analyst. Their seminars are worth signing up for to give you the inside track on the property market and predictions. Their latest research is about how long we stay in our houses. "In England, those who sold their property in 2008 had owned it for around 10 years on average. This was broadly consistent across the country. Fast forward to May 2021 and those who sold had owned their home for almost 14 years on average – a shift brought to the fore in the aftermath of the credit crunch and the accompanying difficulties with mortgage availability and the ability to save for a deposit".
