The Initial Enquiry
Chiltern Relocation received a call from a company based on the Milton Science and Technology Park in Abingdon who needed help in moving a director from South Africa into the area. The company had not used a relocation company before and were keen to understand our service and how it all worked. We scheduled a Teams call with the HR Director to gain a full understanding of the employee’s search requirements and to explain how Chiltern Relocation deals directly with the relocating employee managing all aspects of the move – providing specialist knowledge and taking care of every detail – leaving the HR company to get on with their work.
How we helped
The employee was keen to move into short term accommodation for 60 days ahead of choosing a long-term rental apartment. Chiltern Relocation researched a number of serviced apartments and found two that fitted the criteria. One was in Summertown and the other in Headington. The Summertown apartment was better located but the Headington flat was better in terms of living accommodation. We recommended that the employee opted for the Summertown apartment as location is important when first arriving in a new city.
Once settled in her short-term accommodation we started to search for a suitable apartment. On our Viewing Day we picked up the employee from her serviced apartment and viewed seven pre-selected properties. Given the rental market moves so quickly we were very fortunate to have seven possible options to view.
The employee was delighted to have a wide range of possible options and choose a two-bedroom ground floor flat close to green space. Chiltern Relocation negotiated the lease agreement and completed all the right to rent checks.
Conclusion
Chiltern Relocation always loves handing over the keys to our clients. We were there on move in day to check the inventory and to deliver a welcome booklet full of all the essential local information that she would need – from doctors to dentists, and from restaurants to hairdressers – all the essential information to make the move completely seamless.
