Thinking of Moving but don’t know where to start?
Here are the Four Questions you need to answer.
When we hear from clients, they have often been house hunting for quite some time but with little success – and this can be for a multitude of reasons. At Chiltern Relocation our first job is to really understand the driving force behind our client’s move and what they hope to achieve with their move. Only when there is a full understanding as to what they want and what they need can we start to find their perfect home.
We focus on four key areas and once our clients have a clear aim regarding each area, we can start the search in earnest. Here are the four areas that we examine and the key questions we ask. The answers to these questions shape our search which will include ‘off market’ properties.
Area One: The Commute
- Do you need to be close to Motorway links?
- How long are you prepared to commute?
- Will you want to walk to station or is a short drive acceptable?
- Is there car parking available at the station?
- Happy to catch the tube at the other end?
- How frequent are the trains at key hours?
Area Two: Urban vs Rural
- Do you want a village feel or more of a town feel?
- How big do you want the garden to be?
- Are you looking to walk to local shops?
- Are you wanting major supermarkets within close proximity?
- Is dog walking important?
Area Three: Social Life
- Do you prefer a busy High Street or cosy rural pubs on your doorstep?
- Do you want walking distance to restaurants/pubs/shops?
- Is access to cinemas/theatres important?
- Are you looking for certain sports facilities such as football or golf or netball clubs?
Area Four: Schooling
- Are you looking for primary and secondary options?
- Are you keen for private or state?
- Do you want to focus on the grammar schools and their catchments?
- How far are you prepared to travel to school? Do you want to walk/ short drive?
- Are there a good range of secondary school options within proximity?
- Are there bus routes nearby for secondary school options?
