Whilst this scenario might conjure up images of dissatisfied house hunters – this couldn’t be further from the truth.
According to Chiltern Relocation’s data on house sales, we believe that 70% of our clients have chosen to buy a property that differed – in some case quite dramatically – to the original brief.

Despite alarmist headlines signalling a significant fall in house prices this has not materialised as predicted. Indeed, the latest official data from the Land Registry shows four month-on-month increases, with the average UK house price standing at £291,000 in August. The all-time high recorded in November 2022, was £293,000 so the fall is only negligible.

Half term is fast approaching and with lots of time to fill – some lucky students have a two week half term – why not try one of the many fabulous activities available in Bucks this October.

According to data just released, (18 Sept 23), by Hamptons estate agents: “Residential rents across Britain are rising at their fastest on record”. This is due to high interest rates shutting out would-be buyers and pushing up the costs for landlords. Rising demand from tenants has also been pushing up rental costs.

There are many excellent state primary schools to choose from across the counties of Bucks, Berks, Herts and Oxfordshire but many schools are so popular that securing a place within catchment is challenging. As a result, parents chose to look at private schooling options.

This week marks the date of the Buckinghamshire 11+ Secondary Transfer Test. Sat by all children in Year 6 at state schools and the majority of children at private ‘partner’ primary schools. The test determines which students will secure a place at local selective grammar schools.

The grammar schools in Bucks are highly sought after. Promising a high-quality education with all the extracurricular activities on offer. Due to strict catchment areas, many students are also within walking distance or a short bus ride away making the schools a very attractive option.
