We were contacted by a family who needed to relocate from South Africa to the area due to a new work placement. The couple had two children who would need school places, including a Year 7 place (the start of secondary school) which are notoriously difficult to find – whether it is in the state or private system. The family needed a substantial rental property with 4 bedrooms, a number of reception rooms and outside space if possible.

We were contacted by a couple who had sold their house and needed to move into a rental whilst considering their options – whether they were going to stay local or move out of the area for their retirement. The couple were keen to rent in the town in which they had lived for the past eight years , so already knew the area inside out. However, the couple had already viewed many rental options and every time were unsuccessful in securing the property despite their good credentials making them feel that they ‘were always the bridesmaid never the bride.’

Chiltern Relocation were contacted by a young couple keen to move from South London to Buckinghamshire and they needed help to find their first family home. With a baby on the way the couple were after more living space, a good-sized garden, three bedrooms and a couple of studies to accommodate new working from home rhythms. Being close to excellent nursery and primary schools was also top of their list. In terms of location the couple were very taken by Amersham given its dual commute-ability with mainline trains direct to Marylebone (35 minutes) in addition to being on the Metropolitan tube line.

Chiltern Relocation received a call from a young family who were living the ‘high life’ in one of the iconic apartments in the Barbican. They were keen to move to the area but had very specific search criteria. They would only consider Victorian or Georgian properties and in addition to this requirement they would not consider any period properties that had already been modernised. With such a specific search request we explained to the couple that the search would take longer than normal which they fully appreciated. The house had to be right and it didn’t matter if it didn’t happen straight away.

We received as call from a retired couple who had recently moved back to the UK from Johannesburg. They were renting in London and were keen to find a suitable retirement home for an active couple who wished to regularly visit their daughter in Hampstead. Recognising how much more they would get for their budget by moving out of London, they researched towns within easy commuting distance and started viewing houses. However, they didn’t feel that they were finding the right towns or properties.

This has to be one of the longest sales processes in Chiltern Relocation’s history – but with help from a team of solicitors, builders and estate agents we got there in the end.

A couple contacted us wanting to escape London during first lockdown. They were keen to move out quickly to a less urban area and go into rented accommodation, get settled and then start to house hunt in earnest. Chiltern Relocation moved the family into a super rental house in a central location down a quiet gated road. The family fell in love with Beaconsfield and started to get a feel for the area and preferred roads.

The couple had been house hunting for 4-5 months with little success. Their search criteria essentials included: a village location, an Edwardian property, close to a good village school, an easy commute and a good-sized garden or land. The couple had spent many weekends driving around the local area but felt that they were not finding the right villages or properties.
