The school holidays are finally here! We love summer in the Chilterns and want to share some of our favourite activities. Whether you’re seeking active fun, immersive culture, or stunning scenery there is something for everyone!
Get on your bike!
Explore iconic Chiltern viewpoints like Coombe Hill, Watlington Hill, Pulpit Hill and Juniper Bank. There is a huge range of cycling routes across the counties which are accessible to all ages and abilities. We have had clients who are keen cyclists who choose to move to the area due to the excellent cycling available.
Try get a hole in one at Adventure Golf courses in Windsor, Wexham or Maidenhead
Putt your way through the Eiffel Tower, over the Great Wall of China, keep your eyes peeled for the Loch Ness Monster and get a hole in one on the Hollywood Hills at the new course in Wexham.
Windsor Adventure Golf is a brand new 18-hole adventure golf course set in the beautiful Alexandra Gardens.
Maidenhead Mini-Golf is an 18 holes of Dinosaur themed mini-golf located at Braywick Park. Navigate around the cascading waterfall, putt through the prehistoric rock feature and watch out for the incredible dinosaurs prowling around the course.
Anyone for Padel Tennis?
Padel tennis is the fastest-growing sport globally with over 25 million players in 90+ countries and it is really taking off in the UK. With its blend of tennis, squash, and badminton, padel is a fun and exciting game that can be played by people of all ages and skill levels. Padel is fun, easy to learn and extremely sociable. Played on an enclosed court about a third the size of a tennis court, groups of mixed ages and abilities can play together.
If you fancy trying your hand then head to and book a court. There are courts locally in Holmer Green, Chesham, Stoke Poges and Slough.
Take to the river at Cliveden with a cruise or self-hire
Cliveden Reach is one of the prettiest stretches of the Thames and has long been the backdrop for summer fun and adventure. After wandering through the stunning parterre, climb down the steps to the Thames to be treated to an informative cruise, learning about the river and the history of Cliveden including the famous Profumo Affair. Or pack a picnic and have your own Swallows and Amazons adventure with one of their self-hire vessels.
Learn to sail or windsurf
Bray Lake and Bury Lake in Rickmansworth at Rickmansworth Aquadrome both offer a wide range of sailing opportunities. The stunning 50-acre Bray Lake is surrounded by a mixture of grassy banks and a mature tree line. Water enthusiasts can learn to sail or windsurf, kayak, canoe or SUP. Over at Rickmansworth, Bury Lake Young Mariners is a warm and welcoming club offering a host of junior courses alongside adult sailing lessons. The lake is set within the Rickmansworth Local Nature Reserve, an area of 100 acres of open grasslands, woodland, a dedicated children’s play area and two lakes.
Go Ape in the trees or take a tour on a Segway
Go Ape offers a wide range of activities to suit those who fancy a challenge to those who enjoy taking in the forest and its surroundings. There are junior high ropes courses for youngsters, high ropes courses for older kids and adults, bouncy nets 30 ft above the forest floor and all-terrain Forest Segways. Why not pack a picnic and head to one of the local sites to enjoy a fun filled adventure set in glorious woodlands. Adventures can be found at Wendover, Black Park near Uxbridge and Woburn.
